How should I measure the width of my table?Measure the table along the center crack where the leaf goes. You should measure the top flat surface of your table. Do not include the bevel in your measurements. This will also be the long dimension of your leaves.
How should I measure the length of my table?Measure the total length of your table from one end to the other without any leaves included. You should measure the top flat surface of your table. Do not include the bevel in your measurements.
I'm not sure how to read my tape measure.Here is an image of a ruler with the fractions marked. For table pad purposes just measure to the nearest smaller 1/8 inch.
I have the manufacturer and model number of my table. Do I still need to take a pattern?In most cases no. We have a large database of patterns on hand. Contact us and we can tell you if we have the information for your table on hand.
What if my table shape is not listed?Just choose oval for the shape and that will mark your order as requiring a pattern. Then take a pattern of 1/2 your table. You will receive easy pattern instructions once you press the proceed with order button. These instructions are also included in your confirmation email.
I don't have my table yet can I order my pads now?We recommend you wait till you receive your table. It is always best to double check the measurements from the table itself just in case they are a little different. Table pads are custom made and cannot be returned or adjusted once they are completed.

How may pieces will I get?We usually make the pads for the main table in two pieces and one piece for each leaf. Some larger tables may require more pieces. The price quote box will tell you how many pieces you can expect.
How many folds will each piece have?Most pads will fold once in half across the width. Some bigger tables require two or more folds. Contact us with any further questions by email service@chicagocustomtablepads.com or call us at 312-585-7453.
How long will my order take?Orders typically ship in about 4 - 6 weeks. During the holidays our shipping times can increase.
Can I turn the pad over and use the duravel (velvet) side?We do not recommend this. This very soft material is ment to go against the table so as not to scratch the surface. Since it is so soft it can show and retain marks and impressions. It is also not water reistant so liquid can damage it. We do not recommend putting the vinyl side against the table in case of damage to the surface.

Why is the table pad thickness approximate?Due to variations in thickness of the raw materials we use, the actual thickness of a finished table pad can vary slightly each time we receive a new shipment of material. Due to this variation that is beyond our control it is not possible to create a table pad to an exact thickness.
500° heat protection can I really take something right out of the oven and put it on the table pad?NO! The heat protection ratings for table pads are for table protection only. The top of the table pads are made of vinyl and can be damaged with high heat. Make sure you use a trivet or oven mit under anything taken out of the oven or off the stove.
Can I order a leaf pad only?No we do not sell pads for leaves only.
What are your table pads made of?Our table pads are constructed with vinyl on top, a soft velvet-like material on the bottom, and the interior is composed of a combination of insulating felt and fiber board.
